A regiment of Black Women during World War II. The black women of the war were often referred to as “The Invisible Warriors.” These women’s spirit must have been made of steel; this was a solid generation of women. This is one of the generations, upon which all of us, sons and daughters, stand. You see these women’s jobs were made doubly hard: they were segregated by their race, and then again segregated by their genders, they were at the very bottom of the social scale, and they were not regarded for the brainpower and physical power that they clearly brought to the table during the war—the invisible warriors— But they gave their all, so that the world would remain free. These women believed that one day, they too, would taste the freedom, that they themselves ironically didn’t have, but were fighting to provide for other people. —lovesongforlucifer

I was talking to one my homies and she was talking about how she no longer finds Dave Chappelle funny because she believes misogyny permeates through far too many of the sketches that involve women. I can’t really offer any sort of rebuttal to that…
